I have “separation” issues

Filed under: Uncategorized — by ashiqysworld @ 11:54 pm

Remember a while back I had mentioned that Ma Bear had her second litter of kittens and I was giving them up for adoption? Well alhamdulillah, for the four; Dottie, Zoey, Louie & Fifi, we’ve managed to find homes for three out of four of them. The only one left is Dottie.

So last weekend, during the CNY looong break I had decided that it was time to send them to their new homes.

Initially, I wanted to give them out sooner, but then all each one by one had a bout of food allergy (bloated tummy, vomitting & diarreaha) because I had changed their cat food brand about two weeks back. Apparently, it didint go well with them. So there were trips to the vet, restless night, and endless cleaning of vomit in the cages & gooey poop…sessions of admistration of medication to each of them (which they all vehemently detested). and each appeared to have acquired the skill of spitting out their anti-diarreaha medication haha..except for Zoey. He obediently swallows them, and then he gives you the dirty look…:P like “why are you feeding me this vile concoction”. Alhamdulillah they all slowly recovered one by one.

So last week, I had on Saturday, bathed each of them throughly, with lukewarm water (mind you), firstly using the Neem shampoo to prevent kurap and then the Machiko shampoo to prevent and get rid of any lice etc…Rinse..rinse..dry them with a towel, and leave them to dry in the sun. They loove the sunbathing part! That should leave them smelling nice for about a week or so.

Then on Sunday, I cleaned all of their ears with cat ear cleaning solution and cottonbuds. Result? Squeeky clean ears…:) at least for a week.

Then on Monday I lost my handphone, the batteries went dead so I couldnt call to find it. Hence couldnt call the prospective owners to go to their houses. And by Tuesday morning, although I’d been found my phone by then, I felt down, sad & reluctant. Making one excuse after another to myself. Truth was, I couldnt bear to part with them…huhuhu

I know I had promised. Promises must be kept. and my dad has been telling me to send them off soon or else…..hehe

They’re grown quite a bit now, nearly 15 weeks now I think. Each with their own personality. Climbing up trees, scouting the neighbour’s lawn. Sunbathing…and they answer to their names when they’re called. and Fifi, she just looves to curl up to you. Looking at you with her lovely oval brown eyes. And Zoey, he used to never care about other ppl, but since he got well from his bout of flu and food allergy, he’s been very very manja with everyone. and he likes to lick your hands and feet…just to get attention.

*Sigh*

So now I have “separation” issues…but cause I cant keep all my “babies” at home. I’ll have to face reality real soon.

Bride Wars ~ Anne Hathaway

Filed under: movie — by ashiqysworld @ 12:16 am

I remember watching one of Anne Hathaway’s earliest movie debut in Princess Diaries and lovin’ it! A teen movie, of an ugly-duckling-turning-into-a princess of Genovia. Later she did “Ella Enchanted” and “Devil Wears Prada” ~ opposite Meryl Streep (which I personally think boosted Anne to fame).

Anne ~ with her big bright hazel eyes, 1000 watts smile and long brunette tresses can certainly act the part and is a natural. Plus she has the gift ~ of being able to express her feelings with eyes; her facial expression.

Then sometime in late 2008, Anne’s personal life got dragged into the limelights, when her (then) boyfriend Raffaello Follieri was arrested on fraud and money laundering charges. Note this piece was from vanityfair.com, http://www.vanityfair.com/style/features/2008/10/follieri200810

I stumbled upon this piece from Vogue January 2009, with the edited version for style.com: http://www.style.com/vogue/feature/2009_Jan_Anne_Hathaway/

The picture of her that they’d used for the coverpage leaned more towards comical rather than beautiful. But the other shots were beautiful, especially the one in the brown evening dress.  Seems like Anne has put that particular sad episode behind her, and marched straight on.

And now her latest movie, Bride Wars, (acting opposite Kate Hudson) is being shown in cinemas locally. Basically, its about two best friends who always dreamed that their perfect wedding would be at the Plaza. Both got engaged about the same time, and had booked their separate wedding dates at the Plaza. Turns out there was a glitch and they are now stuck with only one available dates for the two weddings. One has to given in but neither wants to. and so a feud between the two ensued. Definately one to catch if you’re a fan of “wedding” / “wedding planner” themed chick-lit movies.

Count me in! Hahaha…
